>Test Results

>So, last Friday I had to do the 24 hour urine test to test the amount of protein in my urine. They also took blood.
I got the results today. The blood results were fine but they detected a protein level of 293. I am not sure if I am wording that right. The Dr. said they wouldn't define it as Preeclampsia yet and they insist on delivery when the level reaches 1000. I am glad to be well under 1000, but I am worried. The doctor told me that I would have to do the 24 hour urine test every 10 days... Fun.

My blood pressure has been normal, but my blood pressure was normal throughout my entire pregnancy with Samantha and in the end I had to be induced which led to a c-section.

>I Need To Vent A Little Bit

>I hate having to be a working mom. My daughter goes to her grandmothers 5 days a week for about 9 hours a day. I wish I had that time with her. Between my parents and my inlaws I feel like I have no control sometimes.

Samantha is at an age that she asks why? to everything. She also has a temper and knows geniously how to act off of people emotions.

It sucks when I tell her no and she says but I do it at Grandma's. Or when I am at the inlaws and I say no and they say it's okay.

NOTE: I AM THE MOTHER. WHAT I SAY GOES!

But when everyone thinks they knows how to raise her better than I can it really sucks and makes me feel so discombobulated and like I have no control. I hate feeling this way!

I WISH I WAS A SAHM.

>Update on The Babies R us Crib Situation.

>Everything finally worked out!
We got the crib on Saturday.

Being they screwed up so many times on us, we made out with a really nice room.
I have to post pictures! I actually took pictures but it't the whole process of getting them on the computer that actually takes forever.

So anyways, for $235 we got a crib, a mattress, a glider and 2 ottomans. Oh, plus delivery and setup ($150 value). The crib itself was $279.00 and the mattress $99.

So relieved to have the room all setup. We are just waiting for the baby now.
So for all the frustrations and annoyances and inconveniences, in the end we made out pretty well, actually very well! I will post pics soon. I promise.

>29 Weeks Pregnant ~ Part 2

>So last night I had my doctors appointment.
I got the results of the 3 hour glucose test and thankfully I do not have gestational diabetes. Gosh, you don't know what a relief it was.

Being they detected protein in my urine the last 2 visits the doctor wants me to do the 24 hour urine test for preeclampsia. I plan to pick up the bottle on Friday and do it at work. I don't want to do it on the weekend and ruin time that we can be out and about.

I do not have high blood pressure, just protein in my urine. But with Samantha I didn't have high blood pressure either. However, I was induced because of the preeclampsia, which led to C-section.

So it's just for precaution. Better to test and make sure that its okay then not to.

Next doctor appointment - 2 weeks.

>The Frustrations OF Babies R Us

>Everyone thought that I was nuts that I wanted to get my crib last month. They said isn't it too early? Why do you want to go now? You still have time.
Well sadly, thanks to Babies R Us I can tell everyone - Told you so! At first my reason for getting the crib so early was so Samantha (2 1/2) can get used to it. I want her to know she cannot tamper with it. I want to teach her not to throw toys in it. The same with the car seat. Everything is such a big adjustment for her that I want her to start getting used to it now.

Well, Babies R Us gave me more reason to buy things way in advance of when I need them. The crib we purchased was in stock the day we got it. Then 2 weeks later we went to get it, it was supposedly damaged. In other words- they sold it to someone else. So we worked things out, a different crib with free delivery and assembly. You can read more about it here

So the crib and mattress was supposed to be delivered on the Saturday that just passed. We got a phone call in the morning and they gave us a time frame. The delivery would be between 2 and 6. It sucked it was such a beautiful day and we had to stay home. We made the best of it. Samantha rode her bike and roller skated out front as we waited for the delivery.

Then 5 o' clock came. We get a phone call. Not from Babies R Us but from the delivery assembly service. They tell us that they are at Babies R Us and they are being told that the crib is damaged. Hubby and I went nuts. We ended up driving down to Babies R Us and confronting the whole situation. We spent a total of about 8 hours trying to work this out in total so far. So they say we will throw in the mattress. We still are not satisfied. So then my husband says how about a glider. They said they can do it. But we will have to wait and see if that comes. We have a whole setup, a crib, a mattress and a glider, but yet we have nothing. They promised delivery and setup on Saturday before 12. I guess we will have to see what happens.

But all in all, I don't care what they throw in, I am extremely dissatisfied with Babies R Us. I am just glad I trusted my gut and went earlier to buy the crib. hopefully we will get it before the baby comes (June 7th). We will see what happens this Saturday.

>~ 29 Weeks Pregnant ~ Part 1

>So if you read my last post of when I went to the doctor, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great.
Apparently when I took the glucose test my # was 151, when it should have been in the 130's. So my doctor told me that gestational diabetes is a possibility. She told me I had to go back for the 3 hour glucose test.

So, I went back to the lab on Saturday, yea it was torture, but not as bad as I was expecting it to be.

I have a doctor appointment tonight to get the results. I am very nervous. For one, the last time I was at the doctor they detected protein in my urine. Being I had Preeclampsia when I was pregnant with Samantha it scares me. Secondly, I will be getting the results of the lab test for gestational diabetes. Which if I do have gestational diabetes it will increase my risk of getting preeclampsia. I am not going to lie. It scares me.

This pregnancy has not been peaceful at all, I feel like from the beginning it has been one thing after another to worry about.

Doctors appointment today at 6:50 pm. Wish me luck... please. I will let you know how it goes.

>My Crib Experience

>AHHHHHH!
That is the sound of me screaming my head off in frustration.

Here is the story:

About 2 weeks ago, we decided on purchasing a crib. I am now 28 weeks pregnant. Some may say it is early to buy a crib but I want Samantha to get use to the idea of the crib and the baby stuff. I want her to learn she cannot throw anything in there. I want to start preparing her for her new baby sister.

So we went to Babys R Us about 2 weeks ago and purchased the crib. They had it the same day, which we didn't think they would. We had to make space for the crib. Which we finally got rid of the toddler bed, Samantha is in a twin now. The store told us that they would put it on hold. I was fine with that, they guaranteed that when we came back it would be there.

Well, we went back on Sunday. Guess what?? It wasn't there. It was "damaged", so they told us. Babys R Us definition of damaged: they sold it to someone else. They offered to have it in the store in 3 weeks. So I was very unhappy with that. I was guaranteed the crib would be there. They couldn't even present us with the "damaged" crib. If I saw that it was "damaged" then I would have accepted it more. But I knew they were just blowing smoke up our but.

So then they tried to offer us a different crib. I was open to other options, but it had to be the light oak color being the rest of the furniture is that color. So they offered me a different one which was not a convertible crib. I wouldn't take it. Finally they offered me one I was willing to take. They said they had 1 in stock which was on hold for someone else. They said that we can take that one. Being we were in the situation of having our crib sold under our feet the same way we told them we didn't want it. So they said if we want to wait 7-14 days they will do the delivery and the setup. So we agreed upon that.

We were in the store from 1-4 trying to sort this out. So now we are frustrated in Babys R Us with a 2 year old. It was just so impossible.

The manager told us to call the next day to schedule the delivery. So we called the next day and they told us that they are not able to do it. So immediately after work we picked up Samantha and went to Babys R Us. They said they cannot do the delivery and assembly because they would have to get the authorization through corporate. However he said they have 3 in stock. So being completely fed up, we decide that we will just put it on top of the car and bring it home. But guess what? THE MANAGER LIED! After we told him that he can take it now, he went in the back for 15 minutes and came out. They had none in stock. Then, it just so happened he was authorized to make the "executive decision" and setup the delivery and assembly. Funny huh??

I just want the crib. I am so fed up with Babys R Us and the runaround and B.S. that they gave us. Last night we didn't get out of there until 7:30 and didn't get home until 8. We have to call today to schedule the delivery and assembly. Let's see what happens....

>27 Week Doctor Visit

>I went to the Doctor yesterday for my 27 week checkup.
Well, last Saturday I want for the Glucose test and they are concerned. My level was 150, and they said it should be 130. So now on the 20th I have to go back for the 3 hour test. Very nerve wrecking.

This entire pregnancy is such a blessing. The first doctor I went to had me convinced for multiple weeks that the baby was Ectopic. So I thank god for this little baby in my belly.

I just cannot wait until the baby comes out because it is such a roller coaster. Then, on top of that they found protein in my urine. Which scares the crap out of me because I had Preeclampsia at the end of my last pregnancy. They had to induce me which led to a C-section. Last time I did not have the high blood pressure, but was very swollen. So far my blood pressure is fine and there is no swelling.

Now I have to go back in 2 weeks (3/23) , that way they monitor the protein level in my urine. I am very nervous now.

Anyways... Samantha came with us to the doctor yesterday. She got to hear the baby heartbeat. She was very excited. When you ask her what sound the baby makes she says "beep, beep, beep"

>Strawberry Shortcake: The Berryfest Princess Movie Review and Giveaway

>
Every Friday we have special movie night, which we watch one of Samantha's movies and make popcorn. It is very special to her. She knows Friday night is movie night.

Well last Friday, we got to watch Strawberry Shortcake: The Berryfest Princess Movie. My daughter loves anything princess and anything pink, so she was an immediate fan of Strawberry Shortcake.

Let me start by saying that Strawberry Shortcake does not look anything like the Strawberry Shortcake does not look like the Strawberry Shortcake I grew up with. Strawberry Shortcake got a makeover and in my opinion, she is much more adorable now and so are the other characters.

Strawberry Shortcake: The Berryfest Princess Movie was a very positive movie for young children. The movie was really good. There are many lessons expressed through the movie for children such as:

- Winning is not the most important thing

- The importance of friendship

- The benefits of teamwork

- The importance of helping others

Strawberry Shortcake you have a new fan because my daughter absolutely loves you now!

Synopsis:

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE: THE BERRYFEST PRINCESS MOVIE

In addition, I was given the opportunity to giveaway three DVD's to my readers.

>How Do You Feel?

>
I don't really like discussing politics, I realize what a sensitive issue it is, but..

Just a question...

How do you feel that President Obama smokes?

How I feel:

First, let me start by saying that I use to be a smoker, for many years actually. I realized the harm it was doing on my body. I made the decision to quit. Sure, at stressful times I may crave a cigarette but I will never pick one up again. It was a habit, a bad habit and I took control of it.

If President Obama cannot gain control of his habit, then how the hell can he possibly control the US.?

How many children say they want to be the President when they grow up? And when they say they want to be President, to them as saying they want to be a super hero.
The President is a role model and someone that children should look up to.

Movies, that may be PG, get an R rating because there is smoking in the movie. Which I get. You don't want your child looking up to the star of the movie who is perceived to be cool or sexy because he smokes. I don't want my child to look up to a president that smokes either.

>Fantastic Mr. Fox Review, Giveaway & Activity Sheets

>

Fantastic Mr. Fox will be available on Dvd March 23, 2010.

I was recently sent a screener of Fantastic Mr. Fox to review. The Stop Motion animation I though was awesome. If you aren't familiar with this, it is also called clay animation. They take a clay object and take multiple shots in slow and different positions to make the object appear to be moving. I thought that was pretty awesome.

The movie, I think you really have to be a Wes Anderson fan to enjoy it. My husband really likes Wes Anderson, therefore he really enjoyed the movie. I was impressed with the clay animation of the movie but thought the movie itself was pretty dry and kind of slow. It did not keep my 2 year olds attention at all.

Synopsis:

In the re-imagined classic family tale, Mr. and Mrs. Fox (Clooney and Streep) live a happy home life with their eccentric son Ash (Jason Schwartzman: The Darjeeling Limited) and visiting nephew Kristopherson. That is until Mr. Fox slips into his sneaky, old ways and plots the greatest heist the animal world has ever seen. When mean old farmers Boggis, Bunce and Bean join forces to surround Mr. Fox and his family, they don’t realize they are not dealing with any old fox – it’s Fantastic Mr. Fox and he has a fantastic master plan to save the day!

Here are a couple of Mr. Fox activity sheets that I also received that I thought I would share with you guys. Just click below to show the activity sheet larger.

In addition, I was given the opportunity to giveaway three DVD's to my readers.
