>Merry Christmas!

>I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
Have a Happy, Healthy and Safe Christmas!

Hope all your wishes come true!!!

Off to my mother in laws to celebrate her birthday tonight.

I cannot wait for tomorrow morning to see Samantha's face when she see's all her gifts. She is very excited about Santa coming. How simple it is to be 2. All she wants is Hungry Hungy Hippo's and Apple Juice. Of course we got her more that that, but I don't think we went overboard.

Then hopefully this weekend we will get to go see the tree at Rockefeller Center and go to the movies to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. Oh.. and hopefully my hubby will get to sign up for CDL school and I could get my netbook. I doubt it will all happen but I can hope.

>UPDATE ON PREGNANCY

>I am 15 weeks pregnant now. This pregnancy is going by so fast.
I went to the doctor yesterday and heard the baby heart.

The ultrascreen results came back ok.

Everything is looking good. Thanks God!

As far as gender ~ my husband wants to find out but I don't. However I understand why he wants to. We saved all the stuff from Samantha and our apartment is not that big. So we can get rid of all that stuff if it turns out to be a boy. It will give us a lot more space. My point- I like the surprise of it (we didn't find out with Samantha.) Also, its not 100% accurate.

So probably the next appointment they will be able to determine the gender. So we decided to be fair and pick it out of a hat whether we will find out or not. I will let you know what the decision is when we do it.

>HOLIDAY GIFT #1: ICE AGE III-DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

>

A great gift for the holidays!

If you have read any of my earlier posts, you may know by now Friday night is Ros's special movie night in which we pick out a kid friendly movie and sit beside her with some popcorn. Its a lot of fun at the age she is now because she enjoys everything so much.

She especially enjoyed Ice Age III -Dawn of the Dinosaurs. The movie was a lot of fun to watch. Betweens Scrats love affair and him and his love trying to catch the same acorn to Sid wanting babies of his own and finding dinosaur eggs. Then when the dinosaur eggs hatch he tries to care for them on his own, until the mama dinosaur finds them. Then he just gets into a load of trouble and his friends have to help safe him. I love watching kid movies when there is a little something included for adults. There were a few jokes that would obviously go over any child's head.

I have seen all of the Ice Age movies but my husband has not. This is definitely a movie that you can just jump into without having seen the ones before. Although I would recommend seeing the other ones also because they are all very funny and well put together.

SYNOPSIS:
The sub-zero heroes from the worldwide blockbusters "Ice Age" and "Ice Age: The Meldown" are back, on an incredible adventure...for the ages. Scrat is still trying to nab the ever-elusive nut (while, maybe, finding true love); Manny and Ellie await the birth of their mini-mammoth, Sid the sloth creates his own makeshift family by hijacking some dinosaur eggs; and Diego the saber-toothed tiger wonders if he's growing too "soft" hanging with his pals. On a mission to rescue the hapless Sid, the gang ventures into a mysterious underground world, where they have some close encounters with dinosaurs, battle flora fauna run amuck - and meet a relentless, one-eyed, dino-hunting weasel named Buck.

>Enjoy The Holidays With Sprout

>
In our home we try and limit the amount of TV that we let Rose watch. However we do not prohibit her from it. I watched TV as a child and I think I turned out alright. We do not use the TV as a babysitter, we watch together as a family. When we watch TV with Rose our favorite stations is Sprout. The shows are geared towards younger children. Some of Rose's favorites: Barney & Friends, Zooboomafoo, Franny's Feet and The Wiggles.

Right now you can go to sprout online and they have fun videos, games and crafts that you can do with your child.

You can watch videos that are very educational to your child about celebrating Christmas, celebrating Hanukkah and celebrating Kwanza. We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah. I think it is important to teach your child different religions and cultures.

You can also make some fun crafts such as snowflakes, a snowman or a penguin puppet. You can print out coloring pages too. If you scroll all the way to the bottom there is even directions to make Nina's Nighttime Cinnamon Stars. Which a very easy ad kid friendly. You and your child can definitely do it together.

A cool game that they have is MyPICME. You upload a photo of your child and create your own personalized games and coloring pages. You can also send a holiday greeting.

Hope you enjoy! Have A Happy Holiday Season !

>Me 7 months Pregnant with Samantha

>

>Ultrascreen

>So, I am about 12 weeks pregnant. The baby that my first doctor had me convinced was not going to be is doing just fine. Thank God! I went yesterday for the ultrascreen which tests if the baby has down syndrome, trisomy 18 or any other chromosome abnormalities. They do an ultrasound, in which they measure the fluid behind the neck of the baby, and they take blood sample which analyzes the chemicals found in pregnant women. It will take a week to get the results back. I am pretty confident about the test and regardless of which we will not love the baby any differently.

>IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS....

>By Gosh! Can you believe it is the first day of December?
I surely cannot.

This month I would like to make the holiday season fun by sharing fun holiday tips and traditions, as well as some giveaways and tips on buying gifts.

Here is one tip: Try and get all your Christmas Shopping done ASAP, its getting crazy in stores now!

I have mentioned in a much earlier post that my husband is Jewish, and I am Catholic. Therefore, Samantha gets a taste of both religions. Lucky her.

My husband loves Christmas, he puts lights on the house, helps with the tree and decorating the house. He really gets in the spirit of the season. I love Christmas and Hanukkah. I love the magic of Christmas, and the traditions of Hanukkah.

Last year I made Latka's, which are potato pancakes. They came out very yummy. I also like the gift giving part of it. Don't get me wrong I love Christmas and Santa. There is definitely something magical about it. However, growing up I always thought Santa must love me to bring me so many gifts. Then my grandma and aunts and uncles got me gifts. But you know who didn't get me anything at all? Mom and Dad. I was not a greedy child at all. I appreciated everything I got, but I always wondered why my parents don't get me anything for Christmas. Meanwhile all that time they were being Santa.

So, that is one thing I love about Hanukkah. Santa will not be able to take credit for those gifts that we buy for Samantha. But she will still also know Santa and the magic of Christmas.

>Update on Pregnancy

>Besides from the $875 bill I got in the mail because my old doctor did too much testing and my insurance doesn't want to cover it, everything else is fine.
I went to my new doctor last week. He gave me a thumbs up! Everything looks good! Boy, do we have a lot to be thankful for this thanksgiving!!!

All he did was give me an ultrasound to check the baby and sent me for two blood tests, which I go on Saturday. Then I have to go for an ultrascreen on Monday.

Here's the picture he gave of my new little one. We are so excited.

Samantha is so cute about it. We have not found out the gender but she says there is a boy in Mommy's belly and a girl in her belly and a big baby in daddy's belly.

I am not sure if we are going to find out the gender. I have mixed feelings. I didn't find out with Samantha and it was so great, there aren't many surprises in life. That's my feelings.

My husband brings up a few good points. He says it would be easier because then if its a boy we can get rid of all the clothes we have packed away from Samantha and make room. We live in a small apartment. Then also, we plan to switch rooms and give the kids the bigger bedroom. So, then it will be easier to know how to decorate.

He makes a lot of sense, but then I still like the surprise of it...

Samantha is going to be an awesome big sister. She tells me I have to keep my shirt up with my belly exposed so that the baby can see. She looks inside my belly button to see if she can see the baby. It is really really cute!

Sometimes she holds my stomach and says "I hold the baby." She loves singing the baby songs and giving the baby hugs and kisses.

>Changing Doctors

>As I mentioned in my earlier posts, after my ob/gyn predicted an ectopic pregnancy and everything turned out to be okay (knock on wood.)
So thats what made me decide to switch doctors. I mean within a weeks time this doctor put my husband and I through hell. I mean literally, we were in a state of depression and just waiting for the day to come.

My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, we were caught by surprise, completely unexpected. So hearing that it was going to happen again was devastating, and totally heartbreaking.

So after I went to a different sonogram place, they saw the baby heartbeat and heart it and everything looked okay. I was in such tears of relief and happiness.

So the other night I went back to the doctor. The new doctor asked that I fax them over a copy of my records. At first it sounded like they said 75 cents a page if you just get the copies. I thought it would be free to fax. It wasn't free, either way it was 75 cents a page. Well there was like 103 pages. So it cost $77.50. I thought this doctor was money hungry before~ now I think she is starving for money.

I am not even 3 months yet. At the point of the sonogram that I heard the heartbeat, they measured 7 and a half weeks. The doctor had done a sonogram before I was pregnant- on September 1st, when I went in for the prenatals to tell her I was trthen again at the end of September once I told her I was pregnant. Then she did another one two weeks after that. Then she sent me for another sonogram out of her office. Each time, even the time that I went to her for prenatals she checked my hormone levels. Is that normal?

Well, whatever.. I have an appointment on November 18th with a different doctor. There are five doctors in the practice, which you see all of them. I think its pretty likely that one of them will deliver my baby too. With Samantha it was a regular hospital doctor that delivered.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

>I Found A New Doctor

>After the whole situation that happened with the ob/gyn, if you read my earlier posts ~ I was recommended a doctor from my mother in law. I have an appointment for November 18th. I have to call my old doctor to have my records faxed over. I know this sounds nuts but its so hard for me to call. Like it kind of feels like a breakup. Like how do I say it? Are they going to ask questions? I have been going to her for over 3 years. Lately though I have really been questioning her practices. Like for my first miscarriage - was it necessary to have a D&C? Then when I was pregnant with Samantha she found protein in my urine so had me induced. After the first induction didn't work the hospital wanted to send me home but she wanted to keep me there. It was so painful and long. They then put me on pitocin and broke my water. Was that all necessary I question now? Then this pregnancy she already took 3 sonograms and I am only 8 weeks. Then she had me convinced that because she didn't see anything that the baby was ectopic or its not developing. Thank God, everything is okay. I just don't want my health and my baby's health in her hands.

>My Own Shower

>I was recently given the opportunity to review My Own Shower.

My Own Shower is a a special showerhead designed for Children. Its a Kid Friendly design and a Kid Friendly height. Upon receiving the item to review I thought it would be complicated to setup. You have to attach My Own Shower onto the current showerhead. Neither my husband or myself is very handy. But to my surprise- he did it!!!

Once we got My Own Shower on we suctioned it onto the wall and now theres a shower just Samantha's size. We showed her the shower and asked her if she wanted to go in. My husband went in with her to help her wash up and assist her so she doesn't fall. Then Samantha told him "no Daddy, get out, this my shower, I do it." She just turned two and its full force- she knows everything and can do everything herself. You can definitely tell that she felt like a big girl with the shower. It was a fun little fish that squirted her with water and just her height. Now rather than every night her asking for baths she says "how bout a shower?, my shower?"

The only thing I did not like about it was it made the water pressure on my shower a little bit lower. But sometimes you have to make sacrifices, and Samantha loved it enough that its totally worth the water pressure being a little less.

My Own Shower sells for $19.99 - $24.95. Each comes with one character. You can Purchase My Own Shower on http://www.rinseace.com/shower-products/my-own-shower. There are 3 different characters, you can buy additional characters for $5.95 each.

Here are some pictures of Samantha loving her new My Own Shower.

>Aliens In The Attic DVD Review and Giveaway

>

It’s summer vacation, but the Pearson family kids are stuck at a boring lake house with their nerdy parents. That is until feisty, little, green aliens crash-land on the roof, with plans to conquer the house AND Earth! Using only their wits, courage and video game-playing skills, the youngsters must band together to defeat thealiens and save the world -- but the toughest part might be keepingthe whole thing a secret from their parents! With its eclectic cast, fun hijinks and a PG rating, AliensInThe Attic appeals to kids of all ages!

I was sent a free screener of Aliens in the Attic to review. There are also five copies to giveaway. Friday night is family movie night. Once it first came on Samantha said "no, thats not my movie." She is used to cartoons and animation. However, once she saw the aliens she started calling them "cutie pies." Then she warmed up and loved the movie. I thought the movie was very funny. There were a lot of parts that Samantha was laughing hysterical over. Just watching her laugh makes any movie worth it. However, it was a little violent for my two year old. The story was cute, it was about aliens that are trying to take over. The only ones that are able to stop the aliens are the children. The movie was cute and the aliens were adorable.

>Thank You

>I want to thank everyone who said prayed. It worked!

Thank you sooo, sooo much!

So I went to the sonogram place yesterday and it was a long long wait. They told me to come in at 5:30 and I was not seen until 6:45. But whatever, it was so worth the wait!

Once I went in, the nurse began the sonogram and as soon as I looked on the screen I said thats the baby, and there is the heartbeat! It was amazing!!! She said I have to wait for the doctor to come in but to take a deep breath.

Once the doctor came in, he showed us the baby again and the heartbeat. We got to listen to the heartbeat. The baby has a strong heartbeat (162). My husband and I were in tears cause it was so emotional. We are so happy.

So, the doctor at the sonogram place said I am 7 1/2 weeks. The due date is June 5th.

My regular ob/gyn had me convinced I was going to miscarry. I mean on Monday I went there and sat down with her to go over the blood results which the hormones are going up and she said she would have seen something by now. She was not very optimistic. I feel like in the last week I have been to hell and back. I think I am on a mission to find a new one. This made me loose a lot of trust in her.

But omg it was so awesome and I am so happy. And thank you so much for your prayers and support.

I know during this rough time, I read a lot of stories from other parents who went through similar circumstances. Many of the stories I read gave me hope. So I hope that one day someone will read this and it will comfort them. Just because they are doctors it does not mean that they are always right.

One of the sites that helped me out during this hellish week was http://misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com/. There are stories on there from many woman that everything turned out to be okay.

>UGH GOSH... SO NERVOUS

>I have kind of been quiet on my blog because so much is racing through my mind. I wasn't going to say anything until 3 months have passed, but I decided this is something that I want to share. This is a situation that I could really use some prayers and support.

So.. the story goes:
I found out in mid-September that I was pregnant.
I have been to the doctor three times and all three times all so say was the sac.
So I continued to go and get my hormone levels tested. She said that they are going up normally and would have expected to see something by now. That gives her reason to think the pregnancy may be ectopic. She gave me a referral to a sonogram place to get another sonogram done. I am going tomorrow, so I will share the results once I know. They will be able to tell if it is ectopic or whats going on. She said if it is then its better to find out sooner because the longer you wait the more dangerous it is. i had a miscarriage over 3 years ago, before I had Samantha and omg the heartache and sadness still lives with me every day. I do not want to go through that again. I am hoping and praying that the baby is ok and that she just wasn't able to get a good view. The way it sounds from the doctor is that odds are against me but maybe with a little bit of hope and some prayers everything will be ok.

Anyways, I don't think you want to miss out.

Eebee Adventures: 2 board books (ends tomorrow)

Both are great and have really low entries.

>Vacation is over- I am back

>So I took my vacation last week.
For those who live in New York, you know it was a pretty crappy week.
Here is the how our vacation went:

My husband and I decided to take our vacation last week because Samantha's birthday was on October 13th. So my husbad and I wanted to make it like a very special birthday week for her.

On Sunday we went to Sesame Place. Have any of you guys been there recently? Perhaps it was because we went at this time of the year when they are only open on weekends. But that place was nuts beyond belief! We got there about 11am and left at 5pm. It was expensive to get in, but we expected that. We had luch which costed $35, our dumbasses figured lets just get to the park and eat there. Big mistake! Then the park was so crowded. I honestly think they should prohibit strollers. In such a small place it is very very dangerous. I can not even tell you how many times my daughter or myself almost or did get hit by a stroller. So then we waited online for about 45 min. to get a picture taked with Bert. We waited online for and hour and a half to see the Elmo's World show. Which we were one of the last people in. Then the parade at the end of the day was totally crazy. We paid a ton of money and feel like we didn't really get much from it. I thought Sesame Place would be a lot like Disney in the sense that the characters would be walking around. None of them were. We only saw all of them in the parade at the end of the day. The lines for the rides were over an hour and a half long. It was either we saw a show or went on a 30 second ride. So we decided the show instead. Samantha had a great time. If she was an adult though, she would have left there very very frustrated. We ran into other parents that felt the same way we did and even a couple of kids that whined that they wanted to go home. At Sesame Place, the children shouldn't want to go home. They should be having the time of their lives. But you really couldn't blame them for feeling that way. It really sucked.

Then another day of our vacation we went to White Post Farms, a petting farm in Long Island. Samantha had a blast there. She got to feed the animals and ride on the hayride. We picked pumpkins and played in the playground there.

On the 13th for Samantha's Birthday, we bought her the Loving Care Dollhouse from Fisher Price, then had a little party with family. She loved it. She loved the dollhouse. It is all that she has been playing with since.

Then on Wednesday Samantha started not feeling too well. The weather started getting crappy. Samantha started coughing that night and we had an appointment for thursday for her 2 year checkup. Well, she was sick so it ended up being a visit for that. The Dr. said she has the croup Croup is a condition that causes an inflammation of the upper airways — the voice box (larynx) and windpipe (trachea). It often leads to a barking cough or hoarseness, especially when a child cries.(http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/croup.html#) So the rest of the week we spent trying to make her feel comfortable and get her better. It is the worst at night. So its been a couple of sleepless nights.

I want a vacation Do-over. It was not much of a vacation!

>Wowzers... My Snow White Experience

>So, as most of you guys know - Snow White came out yesterday.... and wowzers!

I printed out the $10 coupon from my previous post. Then after work my husband and I rushed to Toys R Us. We got the last one. It was sitting all lonely on a seperate shelf where it didn't belong. We grabbed it up! We got the last one in the store. It was a really close call!!

So then we went to the register to pay. It was on sale at Toys R Us for $19.99. So with the $10 off coupon it came out to $10.99. Then Toys R Us gave a $5 gift card with purchase. So if you deduct that... the grand total was $5.99.

Awesome!

>What a Long Weekend I Had

>I have been gone a couple of days due to my brother in laws wedding out of state. And wow was it memorable, not so much in a good way either.

So, we arrive in New Jersey at the DoubleTree Hotel around 2. Everything went well. All the gues started arriving. We got Samantha down for a nap. Then prepared to go to the (NON) Rehearsal dinner which was hosted by my husbands parents. It must have costed a ton of money and was very nice indeed.

Then, we go back to the hotel. My husband was changing Samantha's poopy and all of a suden the fire alarms go off. Yes, you heard that right.. FIRE ALARMS. I rush out with Samantha and my husband. Initially you always think its a false alarm and act on it as though it is for real. Well, this time it was definitely for real. The restaurant toward the front of the DoubleTree hotel was on fire. Wouldn't you take a fire at your hotel the night before your wedding as some kind of sign?

Well we were outside from 10:30pm to about 1:00 am. Luckily a nice lady let me sit in her car during this time. It happened to rain also while everyone was outside due to the fire.

The next morning we woke up and there was no hot water. So we all had to take bird baths. Brother in law said don't worry about foor, once we get to the place of the wedding there will be a whole setup. Well, there wasn't. The morning of the wedding it was raining. So once we arrived at the site, it was muddy and wet and very very dreary. The wedding was suppose to be outside, howvere, the place setup the entire wedding to be indoors due to the rain and mud and dreariness. This was absolutely not good enough for the bride. She wanted the wedding outside. Therefore, she will have it outside. The place had to set everything up outside. I don't think they were too happy about that. Then came the cocktail hour and reception, I can complain about that too but I won't.

Hold on... One big complaint.... The brides mother had and beat breast cancer. We had left a bag outside and saw her smoking a cigarrette!!! How ungrateful and unappreciative. How can you take surviving breast cancer for granted like that. WOW, That made me very very very angry!

Well, after the reception we head back to the hotel. Now, the bridesparents were suppose to host a sunday breakfast. However, the restaurant caught fire so there is nowhere to cook. But, there is a Mcdonalds, and at least 3 diners within 1 mile. So here is the question. Are you allowed to take credit for a free continental breakfast that was given by the hotel? I mean my husbands parents spent well over $1000 for the rehearsal dinner. Don't you think a free continental breakfast is like a middle finger up. There was 30 people at the dinner and only like 15 at the breakfast. Why couldn't she do it right and have it in the diner? ugh.. whatever..

So we came back home sunday afternoon. I took the day off yesterday. Samantha was drawing and she said look mommy fire. You never know how much these little ones pick up. She did not actually see the fire but expressed it on paper.

What a long weekend I had.
