In our home we try and limit the amount of TV that we let Rose watch. However we do not prohibit her from it. I watched TV as a child and I think I turned out alright. We do not use the TV as a babysitter, we watch together as a family. When we watch TV with Rose our favorite stations is Sprout. The shows are geared towards younger children. Some of Rose's favorites: Barney & Friends, Zooboomafoo, Franny's Feet and The Wiggles.
Right now you can go to sprout online and they have fun videos, games and crafts that you can do with your child.
You can watch videos that are very educational to your child about celebrating Christmas, celebrating Hanukkah and celebrating Kwanza. We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah. I think it is important to teach your child different religions and cultures.
You can also make some fun crafts such as snowflakes, a snowman or a penguin puppet. You can print out coloring pages too. If you scroll all the way to the bottom there is even directions to make Nina's Nighttime Cinnamon Stars. Which a very easy ad kid friendly. You and your child can definitely do it together.
A cool game that they have is MyPICME. You upload a photo of your child and create your own personalized games and coloring pages. You can also send a holiday greeting.
