There are many times we go on long trips and Samantha gets very antsy. My husband will say "Just throw on a DVD, and she will be fine." Myself on the other hand will have a bag packed with small toys and books. I try to steer her away from being zoned out in front of the DVD player for 2 hours. I admit, I do use it as a last resort though. But there is that part of me that feels defeated when I do.
I was excited when I was given the opportunity to review one of the Randomline Squiggle On The Go Pads. It is small and compact and great for car rides, or even when you are visiting, or going out to eat. We bought ours when we took a ride to New Jersey. Samantha loved it. She would spin the wheel and I would tell her what to draw, and she tried her best. Creativity is very important to our family! It kept her occupied in the car and once we got to my brother in laws house.
The Squiggle on The Go Pad has a spinner on the top which you spin the wheel and it tells you which animal to draw. Then on the page itself there is a Squiggly line. From that line you have to draw the animal. At 2 1/2 years old, she really did great with trying to draw the animals I told her to draw. I think my husband and I had more fun than she did with it though.
