>CSN Stores: KidKraft Step N' Store Pink Stool Review and Giveaway

>

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has suddenly become Ms. Independent. She can do everything herself, well at least she likes to think she can. Of course as a mom I encourage her and let her believe that she could unless she is putting herself in danger.
So a few months ago we bought her a twin bed. She loves her bed but has not been able to climb in it herself. I knew she would be excited about getting a step stool. Therefore, when was given the opportunity from CSN Stores to review one of their items, I chose to review the KidKraft Step N' Store Pink Stool.

CSN Stores has over 200 stores. They have everything from tv stands & racks and stands to cookware and childrens furniture. You can check out all of their stores ~ just click here.

The KidKraft Step N' Store Pink Stool was delivered very quickly in a box which it had to be assembled. I thought I would have to assemble it myself because my husband is no Handy Manny. However, surprisingly he build all by himself AND did it correctly.

Once it was built my daughter was so excited that the first thing she did was put books into the little storage part. Then she wanted to go to bed. I am not complaining about that. She was very enthusiastic to go to bed because now she was able to get into the bed by herself. Getting this stool has given her a lot of confidence, now everything she does she says "I do it myself." she climbs into her booster seat alone and even climbs into her car seat alone. I feel that the stool has given her an independence and confidence that she did not have before.

Pro's :

- The stool is pink ~ and pink is my daughters favorite color.

- It is very strong and sturdy. I have it on a regular floor and it doesn't slide or slip once my daughter climbs onto it.

- The storage space is enough to put some books in ~ then the stool can also be used to sit down and read on.

- The part where the storage space opens up has hinges on it to protect your child from squeezing their fingers in it.

>UV Skinz Review and Giveaway

>

In case you did not know - May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Rhonda at UV Skinz has given me an awesome opportunity to review UV Skinz and host a giveaway.

About UV Skinz:
UV Skinz is one of the original companies to design and manufacture protective sun wear. The company was founded by Rhonda Sparks, a mom of three in 2005 after losing her 32 year old husband to melenoma. During the month of May UV Skinz has a campaign called "Save a Baby's Skin." When you place an order during the month of May. UV Skinz will send you free UV Baby Skinz shorts along with a flyer asking that you pass it along to an organization or neighbor in need. UV Skinz has had this program for the last three years to raise awareness and ensure that all babies and children are given the proper protection against skin cancer.

UV Skinz carries a line of UV protective clothing which includes: Kids UV swim shirts & shorts, Adult UV Swim shirts & Shorts, UV Sun hats and other UV accessories.

After hearing Rhonda Sparks story and learning about the company I was left in total awe. She is absolutely amazing and I am sure her husband is extremely proud of her.

I received the following items to review:

I really enjoyed being given the opportunity to review UV Skinz. Growing up I basically wore a one piece bathing suit or a bikini. It was usually my moms choice of what bathing suit was on sale. The past couple of years for the few times my daughter did wear a bathing suit I would put her in the same, either a one piece or two piece. We would glob on sunblock. However, after receiving this bathing suit for review my mind ~ and my husbands mind has changed. It is worth it to invest in a good bathing suite with UV protection for her. More protection will always be better than less.

Another thing that I like about it is a light material it covers up your child. During the summer, we like to bring her to the park to run around in the sprinkler. You don't know what crazy people are out there. You just hear so many stories. So on the beach or in public I like the idea of this bathing suit much better than the traditional one piece. I think it protects your child in more ways than just UV protection. I mean, seriously, you don't know who is looking out their window.

I loved the product and would recommend it to other parents.

>Earth Day Giveaway #3: tiny ducky Review and $40 Gift Card Giveaway

>

I recently came across a eco-friendly organic clothing line called tiny ducky. Tiny Ducky uses 100 percent SKAL-certified organic cotton from India. They gave me the opportunity to review their newborn gift basket and an additional blanket with a beanie. tiny ducky also offered a $40 gift card to one of my readers.

I was extremely excited to share this review and giveaway with my readers because Earth Day is just a couple of days away and because my baby is on the way. My due date is just 50 days away. Yep... I have been counting down.

The newborn gift basket included a onesie, a blanket, a beanie and a newborn pacifier. The material was extremely soft. They also have the logo of tiny ducky on it, which I find very adorable for baby clothes. The price of it is $40. This would make an awesome baby shower gift. Trust me, I know I would love to have this as a gift. There is a variety or colors and is available in sizes preemie through 3-6 months.

The beanies that they have come in 2 different styles - one know, or two knots, they cost $10 each. They sent me one of each style. I like the 2 knot beanie better. you can either leave the two sides un-knotted, knot each side, or knot the both sides together. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts about tiny ducky, they have a special earth day promotion going on, $10 off any purchase. Being that the beanies cost just $10, all you would have to do is pay the shipping fees. Just enter Earthday2010 at checkout. The blankets are so soft and tagless. They are perfect for a newborn baby.

Everyone expects organic clothing to be more expensive, but I think tiny ducky is reasonable when it comes to pricing. The quality of the products is money well spent.

About Tiny Ducky (from tinyducky.com)

Tiny Ducky, a line of 100 percent certified-organic cotton clothing for babies and toddlers, was conceived by a mom soon after the arrival of her son. A frustratingly small selection of soft, eco-friendly baby attire (particularly for a baby boy) prompted her to begin designing colorful and subtly stylish baby apparel with a green conscience. “Being a new mom made me think of how things like laundry detergent and clothing dyes affected both my son and the world as a whole,” she says. It wasn’t long before Tiny Ducky was born—simple, stylish and ultra-comfortable baby wear created with respect for the environment from start to finish.

Tiny Ducky clothing is made eco-consciously in India from 100 percent SKAL-certified organic cotton — the most rigorous organic certification on the planet. Our adorable hats, tops, bottoms, zip hoodies, blankets and onesies are available in thirteen vibrant, non-impact AZO-free colors which maintain softness, color, and shape wash after wash. A portion of Tiny Ducky’s profits are donated to 1% For The Planet and WCFS. Feel free to use our Website as a resource in developing your own eco-consciousness. Thank you for caring. We care too.

>Fantastic Mr. Fox Review, Giveaway & Activity Sheets

>

Fantastic Mr. Fox will be available on Dvd March 23, 2010.

I was recently sent a screener of Fantastic Mr. Fox to review. The Stop Motion animation I though was awesome. If you aren't familiar with this, it is also called clay animation. They take a clay object and take multiple shots in slow and different positions to make the object appear to be moving. I thought that was pretty awesome.

The movie, I think you really have to be a Wes Anderson fan to enjoy it. My husband really likes Wes Anderson, therefore he really enjoyed the movie. I was impressed with the clay animation of the movie but thought the movie itself was pretty dry and kind of slow. It did not keep my 2 year olds attention at all.

Synopsis:

In the re-imagined classic family tale, Mr. and Mrs. Fox (Clooney and Streep) live a happy home life with their eccentric son Ash (Jason Schwartzman: The Darjeeling Limited) and visiting nephew Kristopherson. That is until Mr. Fox slips into his sneaky, old ways and plots the greatest heist the animal world has ever seen. When mean old farmers Boggis, Bunce and Bean join forces to surround Mr. Fox and his family, they don’t realize they are not dealing with any old fox – it’s Fantastic Mr. Fox and he has a fantastic master plan to save the day!

Here are a couple of Mr. Fox activity sheets that I also received that I thought I would share with you guys. Just click below to show the activity sheet larger.

In addition, I was given the opportunity to giveaway three DVD's to my readers.

>“Let’s Grow: Lend A Helping Hand” DVD Review

>Being a part of Sprout's Band of Bloggers, they sent me a copy of “Let’s Grow: Lend A Helping Hand” DVD to review. Sprout is an awesome children's channel, so I was very excited to receive this DVD. The “Let’s Grow: Lend A Helping Hand” DVD features your favorite characters from Sprout in different scenarios in which they help.

The DVD features Sunnyside up hosts Kelly and Chicca along with short videos of Barney the Dinosaur, Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine, Angelina Ballerina, and Fireman Sam all trying to help others in some way. Kelly and Chicca encourage kids to help by giving them different ideas of ways to help others. At the end of each episode Kelly and Chicca award the character with a Good Egg Award for lending a helping hand.

As a parent, I thought that the DVD was absolutely adorable and the theme was great. Children should learn the importance of helping others at a young age. It is important for them to see how positive it is and how much of a difference they can make. I think that it is very important to teach them this at a very young age.

As a child, Samantha (2 yo) loved the DVD. She has asked to watch it again numerous times. She enjoys helping others. She will attempt to do dishes, and clean up. She will always ask "You need help?" Even though she is so young, I think she realizes that it is important to lend a helping hand.

>Iron Man: Armored Adventures Volume 2: Review and Giveaway

>

First, let me start by saying my husband is a huge geek when it comes to comics. So, when I was offered the opportunity to review Iron Man Armored Adventures Volume 2 he nearly did a double flip.It is a little too violent for Samantha (2 yo), so it took a while before him and I watched the whole DVD together. But he promises to watch it with her when she gets a little older.

Anthony Edward "Tony" Spark AKA Iron Man is a prodigy. He created the armor to escape a kidnapping. After escaping the kidnapping, he decided to use this suite that he created to help protect the world. He is a hero, and everyone loves a hero. Like I said my husband is a geek when it comes to comics, myself, not really. But we both really enjoyed Iron Man Armored Adventures. Sometimes it is nice to show some genuine interest in an interest that he has. Also, I know that my 2 girls are going to grow up watching, reading and loving comics. He has marvel glasses but aside and all his comics to educate them on.

Synopsis:

Jam-packed with six all new high-octane episodes, join the adventures of Tony and his friends as they risk it all facing bigger challenges, more secrets, more showdowns and two new chaotic villains, Living Laser and Madam Masque. Using the latest technology and a little teamwork, it’s up to the teenage prodigy and his ever-evolving, adaptable armor – including the unveil of two brand-new suits – to save the world from evil whenever duty calls.

Episode Guide:

This DVD contains six action filled episodes:

Meltdown, Field Trip, Ancient History 101, Ready, A.I.M., Fire, Masquerade and Seeing Red

In addition, I was given the opportunity to giveaway three DVD's to my readers.

>Sleepy Wrap Review and Discount Code

>

I was recently given the opportunity to review the Sleepy Wrap. I was sent a sample of the Sleepy Wrap to try out and I absolutely love it. I played around with it a lot and it is vrey comfortable and easy to use.

(This is not a picture of me, I got the picture off of the sleepy wrap website, I will add pictures once my little princess is born)

Some advantages of using a Sleepy Wrap:

- It is great for breast feeding. A hands free system in which your baby can feed and you can still do whatever you need to do. An added bonus is it covers you up pretty well too.

- It is great for bonding with your baby. Check out all the advantages of babywearing here.

- It is a light material which can be used in the summer. It will not make you sweat having an extra piece of cloth on your body

- The Sleepy Wrap is great for going out and running errands. My husband and I were considering getting a double stoller for when the baby is born. When we looked at the ones that are priced within our budget, they a massively huge and heavy. We still need a place for Samantha incase we are out and she naps. With the sleepy wrap we can just put Samantha in the carriage and use the sleepy wrap comfortably for the baby.

- I love there are so multiple ways to wear it. It is easy to use, the directions a easy to follow.

When I go into the hospital to give birth to my baby I plan to bring the Sleepy Wrap along. I remember with Samantha once I gave birth to her it was very difficult breastfeeding. My body was just so weak. I had a cesarian, which is also how I am giving birth this time. My body was just so worn and uncomfortable. I imagine this time it will be easier to breastfeed using the Sleepy Wrap.

10% off Coupon Code

I was also given a discount code for my readers.

Visit www.sleepywrap.com and enter the code FamilyTies to receive 10% off your purchase.

The coupon is valid from 2/13/10 - 3/13/10.

>My Own Shower

>I was recently given the opportunity to review My Own Shower.

My Own Shower is a a special showerhead designed for Children. Its a Kid Friendly design and a Kid Friendly height. Upon receiving the item to review I thought it would be complicated to setup. You have to attach My Own Shower onto the current showerhead. Neither my husband or myself is very handy. But to my surprise- he did it!!!

Once we got My Own Shower on we suctioned it onto the wall and now theres a shower just Samantha's size. We showed her the shower and asked her if she wanted to go in. My husband went in with her to help her wash up and assist her so she doesn't fall. Then Samantha told him "no Daddy, get out, this my shower, I do it." She just turned two and its full force- she knows everything and can do everything herself. You can definitely tell that she felt like a big girl with the shower. It was a fun little fish that squirted her with water and just her height. Now rather than every night her asking for baths she says "how bout a shower?, my shower?"

The only thing I did not like about it was it made the water pressure on my shower a little bit lower. But sometimes you have to make sacrifices, and Samantha loved it enough that its totally worth the water pressure being a little less.

My Own Shower sells for $19.99 - $24.95. Each comes with one character. You can Purchase My Own Shower on http://www.rinseace.com/shower-products/my-own-shower. There are 3 different characters, you can buy additional characters for $5.95 each.

Here are some pictures of Samantha loving her new My Own Shower.

Here is how the bathroom shower looks:

>Aliens In The Attic DVD Review and Giveaway

>

It’s summer vacation, but the Pearson family kids are stuck at a boring lake house with their nerdy parents. That is until feisty, little, green aliens crash-land on the roof, with plans to conquer the house AND Earth! Using only their wits, courage and video game-playing skills, the youngsters must band together to defeat thealiens and save the world -- but the toughest part might be keepingthe whole thing a secret from their parents! With its eclectic cast, fun hijinks and a PG rating, AliensInThe Attic appeals to kids of all ages!

I was sent a free screener of Aliens in the Attic to review. There are also five copies to giveaway. Friday night is family movie night. Once it first came on Samantha said "no, thats not my movie." She is used to cartoons and animation. However, once she saw the aliens she started calling them "cutie pies." Then she warmed up and loved the movie. I thought the movie was very funny. There were a lot of parts that Samantha was laughing hysterical over. Just watching her laugh makes any movie worth it. However, it was a little violent for my two year old. The story was cute, it was about aliens that are trying to take over. The only ones that are able to stop the aliens are the children. The movie was cute and the aliens were adorable.

>Eebee's Adventures: Book Reviews and Giveaway! (ends 10/20/09)

>

I was very excited to hear that Sterling Company recently published two beautiful new board books from Every Baby Company: Eebee Adventures Make it Happen and From Here to There. Both board books are beautifully photographed and priced at $6.95. They are for ages 6 months and up. Every Baby company is an award winning infant and toddler brand.

I was given the opportunity to review these two new books from Eebee's Adventures. Every Baby Company sent me a free copy of each to review. I must begin by saying that love everything that Eebee represents. He represents the importance of children learning through play. Eebee shows how children learn through exploration and discovery. There is something about eebee that makes children love him. My daughter will be two in a couple of weeks and was very very excited once she saw these books.

Eebee's Make it Happen and From Here to There teach children through play just like the dvd's do. The books are very colorful. They shows eebee along with other children discovering new things. Make it Happen shows opposites by displaying different activities such as turning a flashlight on and off. From Here to Thereshows how things get from one place to another, such as toddlers discovering stairs and slides.

>Baby Signs Potty Training Program Review And Giveaway (closed)

>

I was given the opportunity from Baby Signs to review their Potty Training Program. They sent me a free product to try out and keep. It was a lot of fun trying out this product being I am in the process of potty training Samantha. I have been trying all different ways to make potty training fun and get her more interested in it.

The Baby Signs Potty Training Kits includes:
A Parent’s Guide to Potty Training

All Aboard the Potty Train DVD

All Aboard the Potty Train Lift-the-Flap Book

Stickers
All Aboard the Potty Train Conductor’s Whistle

My thoughts on The Parent’s Guide to Potty Training: The book was very informative. The book did a good job in explaining different cultures as well as potty training in history. Potty training was not always so late in a childs life. This book also explained different ways in helping to reinforce potty training. One way I liked was getting a phone call from a character or someone that they love. I thought that was a great idea. Now after Samantha uses the potty, I call up and pretend to be Snow White telling her she did a great job. Or my husband pretends to be Farmer Joe (a character that we made up:he brings the milk & apple juice.)
My thoughts on the Potty Training DVD: I loved it. I try to limit my daughters TV time. This DVD is short but shows a lot of repition. The DVD shows a few characters on the potty train and they have to go potty. Even thought my daughter can already speak I thought this would make it fun for her. she enjoyed the DVD. After 2 times watching the DVD with me she already knows all the signs.

My thoughts on the Potty Training Book: I like the book. I think the book is a reminder to her of the DVD. Samantha points out the different signs in the book and tells you their names and that they are going to use the potty. The book has flaps, which makes it a lot more fun. Note to authors: kids love flaps in books.

My thoughts on the jobe Well Done! Stickers: I love to give stickers a a reward, therefore I think they are great. They are cute. They say things like good job. I think stickers are a healthy reward. I have heard of some people that reward with food. I disagree with it. Stickers are great!

My thoughts on the Potty Train Conductor Whistle: Super Fun!!! It can be used in many different ways. The ways we use it: I will blow the whistle and tell Samantha its Potty Time or she will blow the whistle to go potty or she blows the whistle when she is done.

Overall, I thought The Baby Signs Potty Training Kit definitley made using the potty more fun for Samantha. It also helped me by teaching me more about potty traininga nd different methods.

Baby Signs even lets you print out free potty training resources on their website such as potty certificates, stickers, charts, and more. Click Here to check it out. I thought they were helpful (especially the certificates and the chart!)

>Earth baby Organic Mommy n' Me Refreshing Mist Review

>I recently received a free full size sample of Organic Mommy n' Me Refreshing Mistfrom Earth Baby Organics for Review. The Organic Mommy n' Me Refreshing Mist ias refreshing and kept my daughters skin feeling soft and lightly scented. The scent is so comfortorting. >Kids Sunglasses- Frubi Shades Review and Giveaway (closed)

>Thanks to ViralConversations.com and Frubi Shades I was given the opportunity to review a pair of Frubi Shades. They sent me two free pairs of shades. Therefore, I have one pair to review and one pair to giveaway.

So, whats so special about these glasses?

Being a parent, you know that you are always out to find the best thing for your child. Especially when it comes to protectibg them. These glasses were designed by a ophthamologist to protect your childs eyes.

I was always worried with regular sunglasses that my daughter would poke herself in the eye when she contantly kept taking them off. Frubi Shades are made of a soft material and wraps around your childs head with velcro in the back, there are no hard edges.

The shades are made with polycarbonite lens which blocks 100% of UVA and UVB as well as damaging blue light. Being that kids eyes are very sensitive it is very important that they wear sunglasses.

Fubi Shades are also great for the pool or beach. The water will not damage them, the velcro will help them stay on. If they do happen to come off, the soft material they are made of floats in water.

I thought that the glasses were very cute. I am sure you would agree (just take a look at the picture.) They were easy to put on and take off. I am guessing that they were comfortable because my daughter did not complain or try and take them off. They are also inexpensive. They only cost $9.99. I think they are worth it.

Fubi Shades are available in 16 colors and prints. I am giving away one pair of denim blue glasses which are suitable for a boy or girl.

>Mabel's Labels Review

>

Recently i contacted Mabel's Labels about reviewing their labels.

In all honesty ~ I must say that moms create the best things!

Mabel's labels was created by four moms- Hulie Cole, Tricia Mumby, Cynthia Esp, and Jule Ellis. They were al moms tired of their kids stuff being lost.. With great determination they developed the perfect labels that were cute and durable. The labels are dishwasher, microwave and laundry safe.

Mabel's Labels sent me the ultimate back to school combo to review.

The untimate back to school combo, which retails for $39 includes 108 labels which are very durable and handy. The combo includes:

50 Tag Mates: Great for labeling clothing. All you have to do is peel the adhesive sticky side and stick it on. No sewing or ironing!

40 Skinny Minis: They are great for labeling school supplies or cups and dishes. They are durable and dishwasher safe.

16 Shoe Labels: They go inside of the shoes, that was you know which is who's

2 Teeny Tags: They have a ring on it to put them on bag zippers.

When ordering the labels, you personalize it with your childs name along with the color scheme and icon of your choice. Upon receiving the combo compliments of Mabel's Labels I thought that the labels were gorgeous. The labels had my daughters name on them along with a pretty little balleringa icon.

Now I am able to keep tract of my daughters stuff easily. I though this would be perfect come september when she starts playgroup and dance class. They are both dropoff programs. The dance class requires them to to have tap and ballet shoes. So now I will be sure that the shoes that she goes there with comes home with us. She will also need a bag with a change of clothes, so the teeny tag will tell hers apart from the others. The labels were cute and durable. Like I said Moms create the best things!

The ultimate back to school combo will only be available until September 25th.

Check out their website for more products that may be handy for you and your child. They have allergy alert labels and 411 wristbands too. Also, they have labels that are great for home organization too.

If you order from Mabel's Labels now, there is a Mabel Moolah promotion going on right now.
When you spend $80 and receive a coupon for $25 for Mabel's Labels from Aug 15 - Sept

Another helpful thing from Mabel’s Labels is they are a profitable and useful fundraising product that won’t cause a sugar spike! >OnTray Review

>Recently I won an OnTray in a twitter contest. I just had to post a blog about it because it is one of the best things and most useful things I ever came across. It makes shopping so much easier. OnTray was created by a mom, and is FDA approved. OnTray is a small container that attaches to your shopping wagon. All you have to do is attach it to the cart and add a snack. Then you can slide the cover underneath and cover it back up when you are done.

My husband, daughter and I all went out to the market yesterday, which is located in a litle shopping center. First, we stopped for pizza. The pizza that my daughter didn't eat we put into the OnTray and she ended up eating the rest in the market, along with a peach.

This device was extremely handy. Normally I would push the wagon with one hand and hold her snack in the other. Now she can comfortably snack while I comfortably push!

If you don't have one, I highly recommend getting one.

Check out their website to purchase one or find a store that sells them.

Check out the pictures ~ what a huge help OnTray is! Makes shopping a little more pleasurable, and a lot less difficult.

>See Kai Run Review and Giveaway (closed)

>

"Every Journey Begins With A First Step"

What do you look for in a shoe?
Do you look for Style?
Do you look for Comfort?

See Kai Run is a line of shoes designed by a mom and created for kids. Named after their first child Kai, Cause haun and Hang Chen were inspired to create a line of shoes that are modern and promote healthy development of the feet.

Therefore, being a mom, of course I would want my daughter to wear cute shoes that are comfortable for her. Also, See Kai Run shoes meet the American Podiatric Medical Associations seal of acceptance.

I was recently given the opportunity to review a pair of shoes from See Kai Run. They sent Samantha a cute pair of Rebekah shoes to try out. Upon receiving the shoes, my first initial reaction was geeez, they are huge! Well, in reality they fit Samantha perfectly, I was just thinking of how little her feet once were. Now a size 6, woah! Where did the time go?

Finally after realizing how much my girls feet have grown, I was able to appreciate the beauty and make of these shoes. The shoes were absolutely adorable and the soles were softer and more flexible than other shoes. I absolutely think these shoes were more comfortable for Samantha. The next day when I was going to put on her sandals, she said no, other ones. Then picked out the See Kai Run shoes.

Check out how adorable and cute these gorgeous these shoes look on my little girls big feet.

Enter to win your own pair of See Kai Run Shoes (Your Choice of Style and Size, from the See Kai Run or Smaller Line!) Open to U.S. and Canada Addresses only.

Giveaway ends September 7, 2009 at 12 Noon EST. I will choose a winner using Random.org. Leave an email address so that I can contact you if you are the winner! Good Luck!
